Conclusion

Now you have completed an
introductory study of tessellations!
You have discovered accurate
definitions of tessellations.
You have also learned about
tessellations that can be found throughout the centuries in numerous
civilizations.
By following step-by-step
instructions, you have imitated two tessellations.
Finally, by using the
original shapes of a triangle and a square, you have changed their forms and
repeated those patterns to create your own unique tessellations.
If you are interested in
creating more tessellations, they can be made from scratch like you did for this
project. Or you can use the programs, TessellMania or The Geometer's
Sketchpad to very quickly and easily draw tessellations. With these
programs, you can make changes in your tessellations. Then,
you will be able to draw conclusions as to the effects of different
changes upon the final outcomes of the drawings.
